Home Up Diana Daly's Haven Kitty Village

In the fall of 2002, Londi Moore supervised the conversion of a pole barn into a dog barn. A lot of volunteer labor and donations went into this project.

The blocks are being laid in the photo at left. Note the “super women.” That’s Londi Moore, Leah Stanley, and June Meyer lifting the blocks that are being laid by Gene Riddle and his crew. Aaron Nash and Ann Strain are watching the girls clown around while Cole Dupepe wheels mortar in a wheel barrel.

The dog barn was finished in the winter of 2002, just before Diana Daly, our tireless volunteer, passed away after a long battle with cancer. We dedicated the barn in her memory.

The new dog barn has a place for washing and preparing food at the northwest end which serves as the base of operations for the daily work of feeding and caring for the animals.

Ten outdoor dog yards were also completed that winter, connecting into the kennels within the dog barn. Here is an early spring view looking northeast at the barn and some of those yards.
