OH, WHAT A TOUGH LIFE I HAVE!

I LOVE MY FRISBEE!

LOOK AT MY PRETTY SWIMMING BUDDY!

I JUST LOVE ALL OF THIS ATTENTION! |
|
It takes just a glance at these pictures of Penny
to know that she is doing well! Jenny recently sent
these fantastic shots of Penny and her buddy Cody, so that all of our
readers can see for themselves the progress she's made.
Penny is cared for by the wonderful staff at
Sterling
Impression Animal Rehabilitation Center of New England and has quite a
rigorous schedule. Hydrotherapy is used to
strengthen Penny's hind legs without painful impact. Heat/massage
therapy is used to loosen her muscles and give her more flexibility.
The massage also gives her muscle tone. Penny walks with
assistance on a special balancing board to help her with strength and
stability. Jenny tells us that Penny is now working with ankle
weights (one leg at a time) and there is improvement every day.
Jenny recently introduced Penny to the beach and although it took a
little getting used to, she and Cody have discovered a whole other "backyard" to play in.
Once again, all of us at St. Francis want to say THANK YOU to Jenny,
Cody and the staff at Sterling Impression ARCNE (especially Penny's
doctor,
Marjorie C. McMillan DVM, DACVR, CCRP)
for taking such good care of
this special girl!
We welcome
each of you to read about our special-needs animals in our
"Saints"
program as Penny is living proof that YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
